Services

Supporting Geography teachers to integrate fieldwork into classroom lessons and beyond.

“Kathy from Fieldwork Connections shares her fieldwork expertise with a high level of professionalism, adopts a hands on and practical manner and has high quality ready to use resources through her Fieldwork Simplified course. Within 1.5 hours Kathy effectively took our Geography Methodology through two fieldwork activities that can be covered easily on site at school. She provided step by step instructions, tips for cheap yet effective equipment, and fully connected all activities to relevant Stage 4 and 5 topics and outcomes. If you are looking to re-invigorate your Geography classrooms, enhance student engagement and show students the relevance of fieldwork I strongly recommend you get in touch with Fieldwork Connections.”

PD Seminars

For Sydney and regional NSW.

Professional Development Workshops run for Teachers of Geography to explain the concepts behind Geographical Fieldwork, how to apply this to classroom lessons and practical experience for running fieldwork with a class.

PD can also be run to train teachers in the use of simple, accessible field equipment.

An audit of the schools exiting field equipment can be undertaken. This can be followed up with training for teacher on the use of the schools equipment and how to integrate it into fieldwork.

Workshops are run with a small group for 1.5 to 2 hrs in length, at the school location, at a time to suit staff.

PD currently offered:

  • Fieldwork Simplified

  • Using simple field equipment

  • Design your own Geographical Fieldwork

The workshop was a well-balanced blend of theory and practical. The tools were accessible to all and demonstrated the topic focus clearly.
